Work Packages

X4D Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) turns the project’s connected data — the 1D tag list, 2D drawings, the 3D model, and the 4D construction schedule — into structured work packages that drive planning, execution, and real-time progress.

Because X4D Core maintains the Master Tag Registry and synchronizes tags across 1D/2D/3D/4D, every package is built from a single source of truth: select a scope of tags and model objects, and X4D assembles the package with an automatic material take-off (MTO), the linked documents, cost codes, and a 3D viewpoint for spatial context.

What you can do

  • Build the AWP hierarchy — CWA, EWP, CWP, and FIWP — with a flexible parent/child structure.
  • Select scope directly from the 1D tag list, 2D drawings, or the 3D model.
  • Generate automatic MTOs and attach linked documents to each package.
  • Apply cost coding and route packages through activity-based approval workflows.
  • Generate 3D viewpoints and document markups; export to AR/VR.
  • Track real-time progress by tag and package (Progressing).
  • Review in the field with the iPhone/iPad app, and produce package reports.

In this section

  • Configuration — set up package types, hierarchy, numbering, cost codes, approvals.
  • X4D Work Packages — the package concept and the CWA/EWP/CWP/FIWP hierarchy.
  • Packaging — selecting scope and assembling package content.
  • Work Package Administration — managing packages, hierarchy, change, reports.
  • Templates — reusable package definitions for consistency.
  • Workflows — activity-based execution, cost coding, and approvals.
  • Create Package Types / Create Packages / Create Work Package — step-by-step.
  • X4D Progressing — real-time progress tracking across 1D/2D/3D/4D.
