Configuration

Before you build packages, configure the building blocks X4D uses for Advanced Work Packaging.

What to configure

• Package types — the classifications you’ll use (CWA, EWP, CWP, FIWP, and any custom types). See Create Package Types.
• Hierarchy — how packages nest (parent/child) so a CWA rolls up its EWPs, CWPs, and FIWPs.
• Numbering — the package numbering convention.
• Cost codes — the cost-coding structure applied to package scope.
• Statuses & workflows — the lifecycle states and activity-based approval steps.
• Templates — reusable package definitions (see Templates).
